About VintageRoam
VintageRoam is a guide to secondhand stores: thrift, vintage, antique and consignment shops, and the places that take donations. We start with Portland, Oregon.
What we do
For every store we read its written reviews, check its own website, and put what shoppers say next to the facts: opening hours, what it sells, whether it buys, consigns or takes donations, and what goes wrong when shoppers are unhappy. In Portland that is 301 stores and 17,338 written reviews.
Every number on a page counts real reviews or comes from a named source, and each store page lists its sources and dates.
Who we are
VintageRoam is made by Team VintageRoam. No store, chain or charity can pay to be listed, to be placed higher in a list, or to change what we say about it.
How we use AI
We use AI (Claude, made by Anthropic) to read reviews against a fixed list of themes and to draft the short summary and answers on store pages. Every summary is checked against the store’s facts and approved by a person on our team before it appears. How we know explains where each number comes from.
